When Justice Feels Fragile — Here's How We Stand Strong
Tools for clarity and courage in uncertain times.
Have you felt emotionally drained by the news lately?
You’re not alone. Things are heavy right now.
Last week, Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett raised a serious alarm: House Republicans voted down an amendment that would’ve stopped the deportation of U.S. citizens. Not undocumented individuals—citizens.
From my understanding, the Democrats were attempting to add additional protections in this ever-changing climate where constitutional rights are being challenged.
And just this week, I heard from a friend about a Purple Heart recipient—a U.S. veteran—who was nearly deported to a country he hasn’t lived in since he was a child. Thankfully, he was able to stay. But think about the emotional toll that took on him and his family—the fear, the uncertainty, the heartbreak of almost being forced out of the country he served and built a life in.
This is what so many are up against. And it can leave us feeling helpless, angry, or unsure of what to do next.
But here’s what I’ve learned:
When we feel powerless, purposeful action becomes our antidote.
🌱 This Week’s Wisdom: From Helplessness to Empowered Action
1. Honor Your Emotions.
It’s okay to feel fear, anger, or heartbreak. Let yourself name it. Feel it.
Then take a breath—and ask, now what?
2. Seek Truth, Not Noise.
In times of chaos, clarity is a powerful form of resistance. Find reliable sources. Stay informed. Don’t let confusion or misinformation take root.
3. Take One Action.
Call your representatives about deportation policies.
Share accurate information with your community.
Speak up when it matters—even if it’s uncomfortable.
4. Remember: Change doesn’t start with them. It starts with us.
You don’t need to fix everything. But your action—your voice—matters.
✍️ Reflection Prompt
What’s one thing—small or large—you can do this week to support justice and humanity?
Write it down. Then do it.
And if you feel like sharing, I’d love to hear it.
